MANILA — Kapamilya star Kim Chiu turned emotional as she marked her 36th birthday on “It’s Showtime,” sharing a message of gratitude and resilience after performing a dance number and singing “Flashlight.”
After her performance, Chiu was asked by her co-host Karylle of her ultimate birthday wish.
"My ultimate birthday wish is ultimate happiness," replied Chiu as she became emotional.

"I'm so happy and I'm so grateful dahil everyday binibigyan niyo ako ng chance to redeem myself and to be better in front of madlang people. Kahit ano ang ibato sa akin lumalakas ako," Chiu said.
"Wala talagang perfect pero binibigyan niyo ako ng paulit-ulit na pagkakataon. Sa ABS-CBN, sa 'Showtime,' sa lahat ng mga nagtitiwala at nagmamahal sa akin though hindi ako super galing in everything I do, pero paulit-ulit nila akong sinusuportahan. Kaya I reach my ultimate happiness because of you," Chiu added.
Apart from her fans, Chiu also thanked her ABS-CBN bosses and her Star Magic, "It's Showtime," and Dreamscape families.
Chiu celebrated her 36th birthday on Sunday.
In a social media post, Chiu said that this 2026 she chooses "courage over fear, growth over comfort, and gratitude over everything."
Chiu started her showbiz career after joining and winning the first teen edition of "Pinoy Big Brother" in 2006. After her "PBB" stint, Chiu became one of the most popular artists of ABS-CBN starring in small and big screen projects.
Currently, Chiu stars in ABS-CBN series "The Alibi" with Paulo Avelino.
