Content creator Hajie Alejandro recently gave his opinion about marriage. In a Facebook post, the makeup artist expressed how the husband and wife should be equal in the partnership as opposed to what’s been spread on social media the past few days.
Hajie maintained how disappointing it is to see a woman’s life revolving around her husband after marriage.

“Nakakalungkot kapag ang buhay ng asawa parang umiikot na lang sa lalaki. Sa gusto niya. Sa ego niya. Sa insecurities niya. Parang ang role na lang ng babae ay sumunod, mag adjust, manahimik,” he wrote.
The content creator added how frustrating it is to see religion as justification for the actions as well–– something he defined as “toxic masculinity” as it just “masks” the different problematic takes.
“Toxic masculinity teaches men na kailangan dominante, dapat sila ang final say, bawal ma-question, bawal masapawan. Na kapag independent ang asawa, threat yun. Kapag may sariling opinyon, disrespect na agad,” Hajie added.
He asserted that real strength in marriage is unafraid of a strong partner and an “empowered” wife.
“Ang tunay na lalaki hindi insecure sa empowered na babae. At ang tunay na faith hindi ginagamit para manupil.Modern partnership is not about hierarchy. Hindi ito boss at empleyado. Hindi ito hari at tagasunod. Partnership ito. Equal in value. Equal in dignity. Magkaiba ng roles minsan, pero hindi magkaiba ng worth,” he explained.

Hajie then called out the emotional manipulation being done in the guise of religious packaging–– husbands using bible verses to scare women into following them.
“Hindi ka ginawang ulo ng pamilya para maging dictator. Ginawa kang leader para mag serve, mag protect, at mag love sacrificially. Hindi alipin ang asawa. Hindi siya extension ng ego mo,” he expressed.
“Partner siya. Equal siya. Tao siya na may sariling calling, identity, at relasyon sa Diyos na hindi dumadaan sa'yo. At kung nasasaktan ka sa thought na hindi mo siya kayang kontrolin, baka hindi siya ang problema. Baka yung ego mo,” he ended.
Though Hajie didn’t call any specific personality out, netizens assumed it was the interview of Alvin Aragon where he claimed how they had to pray before letting his wife, Izzy Trazona, go up on stage at the SexBomb Girls reunion concert earlier this month.
