Alvin Aragon turned to the Bible as he defended his wife and former SexBomb Girls member, Izzy Trazona, who recently drew online criticism over her stance on her transgender child, Sofia.
Sofia, who was previously known as Andrei, is the firstborn of Izzy with her previous partner, Michael Navarro.
In a February 13 interview with DWAR Abante Radyo, Alvin confronted the backlash Izzy has been receiving, particularly accusations that she failed to accept Sofia’s identity as a trans woman and acknowledged the volume of criticism directed at his wife.
“Ang daming bash ni Izzy. Doon pa lang sa anak niyang pinili ang direksyon maging bading, ang dami nang bash eh kasi hindi daw tinanggap kasi bading,” he said.
“Eh, totoo naman, e. Ano bang sabi sa Bible? God judged homosexuality,” he maintained.
He went on to cite biblical teachings, emphasizing that, in his understanding, homosexuality is something God judged. For Alvin, parenting also means warning a child about what he believes to be spiritually harmful.
“Ngayon, ang mabuting magulang, sasabihin mo sa anak mo kung ano yung huwag mong gawin, di ba? Kasi mapapahamak ka diyan pag ginawa mo,” he explained.
In the same interview, Alvin did not shy away from articulating how strongly he views the issue through the lens of his faith. Citing what he believes the Bible teaches, he warned about spiritual consequences for those who persist in homosexuality.
“God will throw you to hell if you continue to do homosexuality,” he said.
"Mamuhay ka, and you don't want to believe in Jesus? I assure you that God will throw you to hell if you don't stop, if you don’t repent, and believe in the gospel,” he stressed.
Amid criticisms, Alvin is thankful for being the target of scrutiny if it meant easing Izzy’s burden. He also maintained that he was willing to take legal action against the bashers, but his wife opposed the idea.
“Lahat ng bashers niya, nalipat sakin. Ako, okay lang. Bakit? Kasi umiiyak na ‘yung asawa ko kaka-bash niyo eh,” he said.
“Ngayon, ako na ‘yung bina-bash. Okay na ‘yun. At least naginhawahan na kahit konti ‘yung asawa ko. Nakatulong na ako sa kaniya kasi iyak [siya] nang iyak eh,” he added.
It was earlier this month when Sofia made headlines as she took to social media to say that distance still exists between her and Izzy.
“No. di na po kami nagkikita ni mama. i also am scared na pag nakita niya na ako ngayon as a transwoman, iba yung reaction na mareceive ko and ayoko na bumalik sa dark place nung lumabas yung issue,” Sofia wrote on X.
“I just want validation and acceptance. wala ng iba,” she added.
Sofia also shared how family gatherings on her mother’s side have become emotionally difficult.
“It’s honestly so sad na di na ko nakakapunta sa mga reunion sa mom’s side, even birthdays kase whenever pumupunta ako lagi lang akong pinag-uusapan and pinagkakaisahan,” she remarked.

Following Sofia’s posts, Izzy took to social media to clarify that she remains in communication with her child. She shared a screenshot of what she described as their most recent conversation, which happened after her reunion with fellow SexBomb Girls members during their sold-out concert series. In the exchange, Sofia congratulated her mother for returning to the stage.
“☺️Ayoko na sana i-public ito, pero ang dami na naman lumalabas at nagcocomment even if they don’t know the truth behind…palaging ganern 😅 Dapat po wag ganon hehe. Pero pipilitin ko pa din intindihin ang mga people 😁 Here is the last convo of my son and I. ♥️🥰 God bless po! 😊 #byHisstrength #bygrace," Izzy wrote.
Sofia later clarified that her earlier statement was about physical distance, not a total absence of communication.
“Dear don’t misinterpret the tweet… ang sinabi ko is di na kami nagkikita and pag nakita niya ako na tranel na natatakot ako nabaka iba yung reception na mareceive ko,” she explained to a fan.

While the situation with her mother remains complicated, Sofia has openly shared that she receives strong support from her father, Michael. In a recent TikTok video, she spoke about how he embraced her identity.
“Dumating sa point na si Papa, dati ang tawag niya sa akin ‘Andrei’ pero ngayon Sofia na,” she said.
“[Kahit sa] pagda-drag o sa pagiging trans ko, sobrang supportive niya. Dumating din sa point na binilhan niya ako ng maraming makeup dahil nga supportive siya sa trabaho ko. Supportive siya sa ginagawa ko. Wala siyang nakikitang mali sa ginagawa ko. Pati hormones ko, siya na rin bumibili minsan,” she added.
Because of this consistent encouragement, Sofia said their bond has grown stronger.
Sofia went on: “Kaya lately nagiging papa’s girl din ako kasi grabe talaga ‘yung support na nakukuha ko sa kaniya. Naiintindihan niya kung ano ‘yung gusto kong gawin. Naiintindihan niya kung ano ako. Mas kininikilala niya pa ako.”
Expressing gratitude, she added, “Kaya [I’m] super super proud of my father. Maraming maraming salamat sa tatay ko.”
