It was only last year when Sharon Cuneta went on a month-long social media detox while recovering from a hip problem. This month, she announces plans to be uncontactable to everyone except her family for the next few days, as shared in her Instagram post last August 28.
She wrote, “Hi, everyone! I will be taking a rest from Social Media and my phone will be off. I will only use the one phone I use for my family. No contact with friends and co-workers—family lang talaga. I need to detox. So I will be out of touch for several days. My mind and emotions are gonna take a vacation from everything extra! Love you all. See you again soon! God bless you always. 💖💖💖🤗🥰😘🙏🏻”
The 59-year-old kapamilya star first revealed the negative effects that social media had on her before she went on hiatus last year. In a previous post, she wrote, “For two months I really did nothing but check on myself. I detoxed from social media. My God this is so embarrassing. I realized because of social media I started becoming somebody I didn’t like at all. I started becoming another person i would really despise.
"In the beginning, the Twitter days, parang feeling mo mommy ka na pinapagalitan mo like ‘ano 'yan why are you talking like this its oh my God bastos ka!’ Now I realize especially when people would hurt me with their words my tendency as human being is to get mad because hurt people hurt people and I so regret that I should’ve been my own self that would rise above that,” she admitted.
The Megastar’s plans comes on the heels of her recently sharing the latest achievements of her two eldest daughters, KC Concepcion and Frankie Pangilinan. Earlier this month, KC was welcomed back as a World Food Programme (WFP) Goodwill Ambassador this year after previously served as National Ambassador Against Hunger in 2008.
Last August 14, Sharon also shared how proud she was of her second daughter Frankie who was recently appointed as the chairperson of the Committee on Youth of the Senate Spouses Foundation, Inc.
