As one of the country’s most prominent actresses, Sharon Cuneta is used to being the subject of many interesting interviews. But as a host of her own long-running variety show, the Megastar has also done her fair share of unforgettable interviews. In her latest Instagram post, she looks back on how much she enjoyed talking to the Taiwanese boy band F4 more than two decades ago.
In her post, Sharon shared a photo of herself with Vic Chou, who was known to play the character of Hua Ze Lei in the original version of the Taiwanese drama Meteor Garden alongside other F4 members Jerry Yan, Vanness Wu, and Ken Chu.
“When I interviewed @vic.chou_official in ABS-CBN, in I think 2003 or 2004? His favorite actor, he said, was superstar @andylauox Andy Lau. And I had just recorded a duet and shot a music video with Andy in HK a couple of years before I met Vic Chou - so I gave him my CD which included my duet with Andy and a VCD with our music video! (It’s on YouTube. ‘In Your Eyes’ which also features Jim Brickman who wrote our song!) I also gave him a DVD of my movie with Aga Muhlach, ‘Kung Ako Na Lang Sana’ with English subtitles! I had a wonderful time interviewing Vic and hope I get to interview the others too, and Vic again—if I have to fly to Taiwan, I’ll do so in a heartbeat!🥰🤗😘🙏🏻❤️”
In a previous post, the self-confessed F4 fan had gushed about her experience doing the interview with Vic. “I was such a big fan of Meteor Garden, and among all of them, he was my crush! So I almost fainted when I was assigned by ABS-CBN to interview him. Of course I also liked Jerry Yan (who didn’t?!). But I was so happy to meet Vic Chou even if I didn’t get to meet the other three of F4."

Sharon also shared how she felt after watching F4 reunite onstage earlier this month in Taiwan at a surprise performance where they performed their 2001 hit song “Meteor Rain” at the Mayday Concert held at the Taipei Dome.
“Waaaaahhh NAIYAK AKO DITO!!! Before I went K-Pop crazy, I was so in love with the original METEOR GARDEN (Taiwan)! I watched every single episode on DVD and I almost fell off my seat when I saw this reunion!!! I am so honored that I got to interview Vic Chou when F4 came to Manila. A few years after that, I was doing a Philippine Concert Tour and I was in CDO when my manager, Sandra Chavez, came rushing into my room to tell me that Jerry Yan was coming to Manila, and that his team had requested that I interview him!I wanted to pull my hair because on the day the interview was to take place, I had a concert scheduled in Zamboanga!😭😭😭Please, Jerry, let me do it when you come back to Manila!!! Let me interview the four of you anytime, please!!! I love them so much—especially Vic Chou and Jerry Yan!!! I MISSED THEM SOOO MUCH!!! @jerry_yan_official @vic.chou_official @vannesswu @kenchu9 ❤️❤️❤️🥰😘🤗🙏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻”

Apart from F4, Sharon Cuneta is also a self-confessed fan of K-pop boy groups like SHINee and NCT 127. She once wrote about her love for SHINee and why she doesn’t feel she’s too old to be a fan of K-pop in an Instagram post.
“There’s no age limit to what makes you happy, to loving what you love — and I happen to love SHINee, that Korean boyband. Sometimes I get comments like ‘You’re too old to be a K-Pop fan’. No, that’s not true. I guess, for me, especially because I had my own show for so many years when I was in my twenties and thirties. And I did a lot of singing of all genres and a lot of dancing as well so I appreciate the dancing and singing and that just doesn’t end … it doesn’t stop. But really SHINee is good no matter what age you are. If anybody who knows SHINee or if by some miracle someone or a member of SHINee sees this, I can be your momma over here in the Philippines. I can be your Momma Shawol because I’ve been singing since I was 12, acting since I was 15, and I know when you want to hide and get away from everyone and I can hide you guys. No one will bother you if you want to take a break and rest. Anyway, I hope to meet you guys.”
