MANILA (UPDATED) — After starting the tournament with three straight losses, Akari has now secured its third victory in a row.
This, as the Chargers rose past Capital1, overcoming a slow start, 17-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-17, in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on Saturday evening at the Filoil Centre in San Juan.
They could not prevent super rookie Bella Belen from putting up a game-high 24 points done mostly on attacks, but the Tina Salak-mentored squad still managed to get the win.
Akari star Ivy Lacsina showed her two-way game, listing a triple-double shy of 19 points, 13 excellent receptions and nine excellent digs, while PVL freshman Chenie Tagaod made her presence felt with 12 points and four excellent receptions.
Former PVL Press Corps Most Improved Player awardee Eli Soyud had 14 markers; playmaker Mars Alba enabled the offense with 23 excellent sets, while libero Justine Jazareno had 17 excellent digs and three excellent receptions, earning Player of the Game nod.

"Hindi ko naman po magagawa ‘yung mga digs ko kung ‘di rin po sa mga teammates and sa mga coaches ko na talagang pinagkakatiwalaan ‘yung sistema na binibigay ni coach Tina (Salak). And ‘yun nga, talagang pinagtatrabahuhan namin sa training. Happy kami na nag-translate into our game," said the Alas Pilipinas defensive specialist.

Meanwhile, the Solar Spikers fell to 3-4 after the loss, despite coming from a win over Farm Fresh.
Belen was the lone bright spot for Capital1 having, being the sole player in double digits, adding 13 excellent digs and seven excellent receptions.
