DASMARIÑAS, Cavite — Zus Coffee import Anna DeBeer made a good first impression as she towed the Thunderbelles past Chery Tiggo, 25-15, 19-25, 25-20, 25-23, to open their 2025 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference campaign on a winning note on Saturday at the Dasmariñas Arena here.
The Thunderbelles already played last Tuesday against Akari, but their game was declared void as the league, including the participating teams, decided to replay the October 7 matches on another date.

DeBeer registered 37 points on 35 attacks, one block, and one service, including the game-winning hit to help Zus Coffee officially gain a 1-0 win-loss card in Pool B.
This was the University of Louisville product's first overseas game, and DeBeer already made a good account of herself, as she also added 14 excellent receptions.
Her 37-point performance followed the 38-point masterpiece of Farm Fresh improt Eli Rousseaux last Thursday.
Thunderbelles held their ground in the final frame despite squandering a 10-point 17-7 lead, as the Crossovers unleashed a 14-5 run from that point on, capped by an Ara Galang crosscourt hit to make it a one point game, 22-21, with Zus Coffee still on top.
Riza Nogales and Galang exchanged hits, but DeBeer was there to propel the Thunderbelles to match point, 24-22.
It was the reinforcements' turn to exchange hits, as Yunieska Batista scored one to save a match point, but DeBeer's kill mattered more as she fired the game-winner, concluding the match that lasted two hours and three minutes.
AC Miner was the other Zus Coffee player in twin-digit scoring with 13 points, and standout libero Alyssa Eroa was there to hold the defensive fort, tallying 12 excellent receptions and 11 excellent digs.
On the other hand, Batista had 22 points, as Galang finished with 15 points. Mylene Paat marked her return with six points, recovering from an undisclosed injury.
