MANILA — Farm Fresh import Eli Rousseaux was glad to be playing competitive volleyball again.
More than the assignment of lifting the Foxies in the 2025 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference, Rousseaux had a personal backstory that made her debut on the PVL taraflex a meaningful one.
She previously suffered a career-threatening, severe ankle injury in a competition in Turkiye last March 15.
After months of recovery, the Belgian spiker made a triumphant return, powering the Foxies to a 22-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-21 win over Nxled with a 38-point output in her first game on Philippine soil, Thursday at Dasmariñas Arena.

“First of all, I was really happy to play my first game again after my injury in March, so it’s a special moment for me. I’m really, really happy that it went this way and it’s with this team. That’s for now the biggest thing to say,” said Rousseaux.
“Honestly, I was already really grateful the last couple of weeks being here and feeling healthy again and getting my shape back,” she said. “Today, I just went to this game without expectations whatsoever, to be honest. I just wanted to enjoy volleyball again and to be here.”

She earned praises from Farm Fresh head coach Alessandro Lodi, underscoring that Rousseaux is the "perfect" reinforcement for the team.
“Eli is the perfect person to complement this team — to work with this team, work for the others, and for the others to work for her — so we’re very optimistic for this league,” Lodi expressed.
