Alex Eala wrapped up her preparations for her Wimbledon debut with a one-hour practice session against Germany's Eva Lys on Monday at the Aorangi Park practice courts of the All England Club.
The two rising stars, who are also close friends on the WTA Tour, engaged in high-intensity rallies and practice points as they fine-tuned their games ahead of their respective first-round matches.
Eala opens her Wimbledon campaign on Tuesday against Mexico's Renata Zarazúa, while Lys is set to face Russia's Diana Shnaider.
Joining Eala during the session were her coach, Joan Bosch, and her father, Mike Eala.
After practice, Eala and Lys crossed paths with Spain's Paula Badosa, who was scheduled to use the same court. The three players shared a brief conversation before posing for photos together.
Opening day at the All England Club drew large crowds, creating a lively atmosphere around the grounds.
Players and spectators were greeted by sunny weather, although temperatures were noticeably cooler than the heat experienced during the previous week.
