MANILA – Dwight Ramos is getting ready for another tour of duty for Gilas Pilipinas, as they return to action two months from now for the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

Ramos is back in the Philippines after wrapping up his season with Levanga Hokkaido in the Japan B.League.

The 27-year-old guard is looking forward to returning to the court with the same Gilas core in the previous window.

The Nationals went winless in both assignments against New Zealand and Australia in the second window held here at home.

As they head back into action, Ramos believes Gilas will put the chemistry and familiarity to good use when they face the same opponents in July.

"We’re going into the next window knowing what everyone’s going to bring at least. And then you know what each player's going to bring, 'cause we've been together for a long time," Ramos said during the B.League Final Week on Thursday.

"You know if somebody's improving, it only brings the team higher. At least the baseline level of bringing all the same guys is slowly going to rise. But as players improve, you know our team is just going to get better," he added.

Ramos is coming off a consistent performance in the franchise-best season for Levanga Hokkaido with a 37-23 record.

With another B.League season in the books, the 27-year-old guard will now turn his focus to Gilas.

"For me, I just took a little break after the season but I’ll start working out. I’ll go to the States and train and by the time I come back, I’ll be Gilas-ready," Ramos said.

Gilas will face New Zealand to open the third window in Auckland on July 3.
