MANILA — Filipino gymnast Karl Eldrew Yulo has qualified for the floor exercise finals at the FIG World Cup Antalya in Türkiye.
Mirroring his performance at the FIG World Cup Baku last week, the 18-year-old advanced to the finals of the floor exercise, one of his specialty events. Yulo posted a score of 13.666 during the qualifications held on Thursday.

The Filipino gymnast shared an identical score of 13.666 with Theodor Gadderud of Norway and Eamon Montgomery of Ireland. Rayderley Zapata of Spain topped the floor exercise qualifications with a score of 13.966.
During Day 2 of the preliminaries on Friday, Yulo missed out on the top ten for the vault, parallel bars, and horizontal bar.
This competition marks only the second senior-level stint for the young gymnast, who previously won two bronze medals at the 3rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics Junior World Championships last November.
Yulo hopes to secure a podium finish after falling short in Baku as he competes in the floor exercise finals this Saturday.
