MANILA -- Seven new players made it to the roster of the Philippine women's national football team, who will defend their crown in the ASEAN MSIG Serenity Cup in Vietnam from August 6-19.
Head coach Mark Torcaso on Saturday named the 23-player roster for the tournament, featuring three players who were called up from the youth team.

Alamo, Cuenco, and Pidding were called up from the youth squad; the other newcomers are Jaycee Defazio, Oka, Schinaman, and Wyrzynski.

"We're excited to bring a strong, youthful squad to this camp — a good blend of our experienced players but also a number of U17 and U20 players to join us. While we have a few players unavailable, due to this not being a FIFA window, this opens up a great opportunity for our talented young players to step up," said Torcaso of his roster.
"This is an exciting opportunity for our young players to gain experience and compete at a high level. They've earned this chance, and we see it as a key part of our long-term plan for preparing for the 2026 Asian Cup," he added.
"As defending champions, we're here to win, and do the best we can for the country and our fans. We believe in the depth of our squad and we're ready to showcase it."
The Filipinas were drawn into Group B along with Myanmar, Australia U-23, and Timor-Leste. They open their campaign on August 7 against Timor-Leste, followed by the match against Australia U023 on August 10, and Myanmar on August 13.
Only the top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout semifinals.
