MANILA – Newly-appointed Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman Patrick "Pato" Gregorio took his oath of office at Malacañang Palace on Wednesday.
The PSC shared a photo of his oath-taking this morning before Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
According to the PSC, Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) Chairperson Hilario Paredes, his family Martin Gregorio, Marichele Gregorio, Patricia Gregorio and Angela Gregorio were also present in the ceremony.
The 57-year-old officially took over the reins from outgoing PSC chief Richard Bachmann on Tuesday at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.

Last week, Malacañang confirmed Gregorio will be replacing Bachmann as PSC Chairman but did not give any further details.
During the Philippine Sportswriters Association forum also held on Tuesday, Gregorio said it's his time to help as the 'lucky' 13th PSC Chairman.
Under Bachmann's leadership, the country saw renewed success in the Olympics, with the double gold medal haul of Carlos Yulo in gymnastics.
Gregorio wants to repeat or have a better feat during his watch, including further boosting the national sports landscape.

The new PSC Chairman also eyes the creation of a national sports foundation and increasing sports tourism.
Gregorio said he will focus on the improvement of local sports facilities and getting Filipino people more active in sports, following the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Prior to his appointment as PSC Chairman, Gregorio is the Philippine Rowing Association President and served as the Philippine delegation's games-time chef de mission during the 2024 Paris Olympics.
