MANILA – Proud parents Angelica and Mark Andrew Yulo beamed with happiness and love for their son Eldrew after his inspired campaign at the 3rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics *Junior* World Championships.

The 17-year-old once again brought pride to their home in Leveriza, winning bronze medals in the floor exercise and high bar events.

"Sobrang na-ooverwhelm kami... Nagpapasalamat kami unang-una kay God dahil sa binigay na lakas at talent kay Eldrew," Angelica told reporters in the post-event press conference.

The Yulo matriarch likewise thanked Eldrew's coaches Reyland Capellan for mentoring him since he was five years old and to Japanese coach Munehiro Kugimiya for taking him under his wing.

"Thank you coach for your sobra sobrang support yung ibinigay mo sa mga anak ko. Sobra akong thankful sa'yo na hindi ka nag-dalawang isip na kunin si Eldrew," she said.

Angelica encouraged her son to maintain his perseverance and dedication, which she admires in him.

"Congrats 'nak. Pagpatuloy mo lang lahat ng ginagawa mo. Sobra akong proud sa'yo dahil ever since never ko siya narinig na magreklamo. Although nagrereklamo siya pag pagod siya," she added.

"Yun yung attitude na gusto ko sa kanya na nagpapahinga lang siya tapos laban ulit. Love you beh, so much proud talaga ako sa'yo," the Yulo matriarch added.

Eldrew's father Mark Anthony kept his congratulatory message short and sweet.

"Congrats 'nak. God bless po sa mga sumuporta sa anak ko. Basta ano lang, galingan mo lagi. Laban Pilipinas," he said.

The Yulo patriarch even poked fun at his viral moment with Carlos during the parade for Team Philippines at the Paris Olympics last year.

"Drew nandito yung papa mo," he jokingly said.

The Yulo family was in attendance during Eldrew's events, cheering loudly and waving the Philippine flag, as a show of support for their son.

Angelica and Mark Andrew relished the opportunity to witness their son compete on home soil, while making history at the same time.

Following Eldrew's success in the Junior World Championships, he looks to keep improving and bring his winning ways to the seniors division.
