After three straight losses, the Macau Black Knights names former ABL standout Marcus Elliot as new head coach, replacing Garrett Kelly.

MANILA – After absorbing three losses in the PBA 50 Commissioner's Cup, the Macau Black Knights will be having a new coach when they return to action on Saturday.
The team announced on Thursday it has tapped former ASEAN Basketball League Most Valuable Player Marcus Elliott to take over as head coach.
The coaching change comes as the Black Knights started the mid-season conference with a 0-3 slate under head coach Garrett Kelly.
"Big news for the Black Knights! Marcus Elliott, the new Head Coach, brings years of Asian basketball experience and a trophy-laden career. Known for his sharp mind and fearless style, he’s ready to take the reins and lead our team to new heights," the team wrote on its Instagram.
"From this season onward, the court will feel his presence — the one and only “The Maestro”! Macau basketball, get ready to witness greatness," the post further read.

According to a report on the PBA website, Kelly has been given a new role as Director for Player Development.
Elliott boasts a 15-year career in the pro leagues, playing for various club teams including Hong Kong Eastern from 2016 to 2019.
During his time with Hong Kong Eastern, he was teammates with four-time PBA champion Christian Standhardinger.
The 41-year-old last played for Hi-Tech Basketball Club in the Basketball Thai League in 2024.
Elliott is expected to call the shots in his first PBA game on Saturday, when Macau takes on the Magnolia Hotshots at the Araneta Coliseum.
Both squads hold 0-3 records, seeking their first win in the mid-season conference.
