MANILA -- Blackwater scored its breakthrough win in the PBA Season 50 Commissioners' Cup on Sunday, overcoming Magnolia 97-91 at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
In a battle between winless squads, the Bossing emerged triumphant thanks to Robert Upshaw III's 35 points and 14 rebounds, as well as Sedrick Barefield's 26-point effort.
Barefield and Upshaw took charge in crunch time, with a four-pointer from the import giving Blackwater a 91-84 advantage with under a minute to go.
The Bossing were steady at the line to keep Magnolia at bay, with Barefield knocking down the last two charities that pegged the final score.
The Hotshots dropped to 0-3 in the conference despite a 38-point outing from import Nuni Omot.
Blackwater is now at 1-2.
