MANILA -- Titan Ultra scored its first win of the PBA Season 50 Commissioners' Cup in sensational fashion, pulling off a 119-112 upset of San Miguel Beer on Saturday night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Joshua Munzon led the way with 29 points while import Michael Gilmore contributed a 28-point, 13-rebound double for the Giant Risers.
This is the first win of Titan Ultra in the conference after losing their first two games by big margins.
Munzon scored 11 points in the fourth quarter, helping quell the Beermen's fight back after they rallied from a 21-point deficit to get within four points.
CJ Perez had 27 points and Don Trollano added 21 for the Beermen, who got a paltry four-point output from import Marcus Lee.
In another game, the Meralco Bolts improved to 2-0 in the conference after pulling away for a 93-86 triumph over Phoenix Super LPG.
Jason Brickman had his best game as a Bolt, delivering 16 points while Chris Banchero added 17.
They made sure to take care of business against an undermanned Phoenix side that played without Kai Ballungay and Jason Perkins. Import James Dickey III led the Fuel Masters with 28 points and 21 rebounds.
