MANILA (UPDATED) — A majority of Filipinos said they support senatorial candidates who back government subsidies for PhilHealth, prioritize education, and those who continue to address rising food and commodity prices, a survey suggested Thursday.
In a non-commissioned poll conducted by WR Numero Research between Feb. 10 and 18, 2025, eight of every ten surveyed said they want senatorial bets who push for government subsidies for PhilHealth while only 7 percent of respondents disagreed.
Thirteen percent were unsure.

Respondents also said they would vote for candidates who prioritize the country’s education crisis (67 percent) and those who would focus on the increasing prices of food (54 percent).
Forty-eight percent of those who participated in the survey said they would also vote for candidates who “advocate more discussion on comprehensive sexual education.” Twenty-eight percent, meanwhile, said they were unsure and 25 percent disagreed.

The survey wanted to see what election issues “in terms of consideration are the public selecting their Senate bets or candidates,” said Cleve Arguelles, WR Numero president and CEO.
“Malinaw sa ating mga kababayan, sa pagboto ng kanilang kandidato sa pagkasenador ngayong May 2025, ang isa sa malaking batayan ay ang pagsuporta sa pagbabalik ng subsidiya ng pamahalaan sa PhilHealth at pagresolba sa lumalalang krisis sa edukasyon sa ating bansa,” Arguelles said.
OTHER POLICY ISSUES
A majority or 43 percent of the respondents do not support candidates pushing for the removal of Vice President Sara Duterte through impeachment. A total of 32 percent said they were unsure but 25 percent agree.
“This is quite consistent with our previous findings na so far, marami sa ating mga kabbaayan ang hindi sumusuporta sa impeachment ng ikalawang Pangulo,” he said.
Forty-nine percent, on the other hand, said they do not advocate for the passage of same-sex marriage into law while 25 percent were unsure and 26 percent agree.
WR Numero had the prompt “Gaano ka sumasang-ayon o hindi sumasang-ayon sa mga sumusunod na pahayag…” and “Makakakuha ng aking boto ang kandidato sa pagkasenador na…”
The pollster conducted the non-commissioned survey using face-to-face computer assisted personal interviews. This had a total of 1,814 respondents across the Philippines.
It had a ± 2 percent margin of error at the national level.
