A graduation performance from Banisil National High School has gone viral after a group of students danced to BINI’s “Karera,” turning their year-end celebration into an online moment.

The dance, held during their graduation ceremony on April 14, 2025, at the school’s covered court, was led by graduates Jhon Ackxyll Dending, Jedel Del Valle, and Edrian Kasaligan. The viral video, posted just days after the event, quickly reached hundreds of thousands of views and continues to gain attention for its message.

“We come up with the idea po ng what if ‘Karera’ po 'yung maging graduation song namin,” said Dending, also the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) president. “Kasi 'yung tinitingnan talaga namin na song is 'yung meaningful. The lyrics is napababagay po sa aming batch.”

Inspired by the message of “Karera,” the trio created the choreography themselves – just day before the performance. “Actually, one day lang po 'yung ipe-present namin… doon pa kami gumawa ng step and then we come up with easy step po na makasabay 'yung mga students,” Dending shared.

JV Trocio, the teacher in charge of the graduation, fully supported the students’ idea. “Ako naman po bilang teacher, kung ano po 'yung gusto ng estudyante, 'yun po ang sinusunod ko. Kasi kung kami ang pipili, pang matanda 'yung mga kanta. So, dapat pang bata 'yung gusto nila 'yung gagamiting songs,”  he said.

He often heard “Karera” playing in his classroom, and its message stuck with him.

“Ang buhay ay hindi karera,” he said. “Siguro nakita nila 'yung tatahakin nilang landas in the future na hindi ko kailangang makipag-compete kahit kanino.”

The simplicity of the choreography didn’t stop the impact. Del Valle shared that what made the performance special was how much everyone enjoyed it. “One thing na ginawa talaga namin is we enjoy… kasi 'yun yung last and final show na gagawin namin kasi that's our graduation po.”

When Dending posted the clip online, he didn’t expect it to go viral. “Pagkagising ko Friday morning po, I got shocked kasi umabot po siya ng 800,000 views from two days lang po,” he said. “I'm very proud of the team.”

The graduates’ choice of “Karera” carried a deeper meaning as they closed one chapter and looked ahead. “Lahat po tayo ay may pangarap but all the hard works will be paid soon,” said Dending. “Hindi pwedeng madaliin 'yung mga pangarap natin.”

As for a message to BINI? The students didn’t hold back.

“Continue to inspire, continue to grow, and continue to influence the youth,” Del Valle said.
