“Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal” celebrity player Ynez Veneracion notably achieved one of the game show’s historic firsts last June 28, when she immediately eliminated the ₱500,000 and ₱1 million cash prizes back-to-back in the first round. The veteran actress also lost the ₱125,000 prize off the board in the same round, adding to her early setback.
Ynez was hoping to land some of the lowest amounts by the second round. In her search for where the ₱1 was hidden, the single parent turned to her eldest daughter for advice, whom she later introduced as Princess. Both of her daughters have long been a constant source of inspiration for Ynez, especially during the period when she struggled to make ends meet due to limited acting opportunities.
Hoping to locate the ₱1 briefcase, Princess suggested number 15, which her mother Ynez approved without hesitation. The Kapamilya audience members present on set couldn’t contain their screams when the briefcase revealed ₱250,000, further reducing Ynez’s chances of taking home a higher cash prize.
The celebrity player avoided becoming one of the game show’s “Pisonaryo” winners with the help of veteran comedian Long Mejia. This gave her enough hope to continue playing until the very end, where she ultimately declined the Banker’s final offer of ₱260.
