“Kilig” wasn’t just the word of the day on the June 7 episode of “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal,” but it was also the feeling that pervaded throughout the episode, especially everytime celebrity player AC Bonifacio got to open low-value briefcases. In the end, her bravery and YOLO (you only live once) mindset earned her a respectable P50,000 prize.
As everyone waited with bated breath for the lucky wheel to stop spinning, the new gen performer was totally stunned when it landed on number 15—the briefcase that had been assigned to her ever since the show began.
Upon reaching the player’s podium, host Luis Manzano revealed to her that her fellow lucky stars had been actually waiting for this moment to come—and it finally happened! Asked how she felt, AC admitted, “I'm so nervous po. Pero okay na po ako.”
As if stroke of fate, the moment arrived on the very episode when her beloved mom, Cherry Lapidario—who just got back from Canada—was present in the studio to watch the show that she’d been a huge fan of. According to AC, she felt that it was really meant to be because she actually manifested this moment ever since they began taping that if her mom were around, then she would finally get her turn.
When asked what she would do with the P1 million jackpot prize if ever she got to take it home, she related, “Every birthday ko po, I try to visit kids who are sick po. And last year, I did visit some in the hospital, and I saw how hard it was for them na, sometimes, they're squeezed into one room pa. So, if this can help in any way for them to be comfortable, 'yon po ang gagawin ko.”

Although Mommy Cherry suggested that she choose briefcase number 19, AC opted to follow her instincts and selected briefcase No. 4 instead. She explained that she had been seeing the angel number “444” ever since taping began and took it as a sign.
The game got off to a rough start as AC immediately eliminated the P500,000 and P250,000 amounts in the opening round. Her hopes of becoming a millionaire got crushed after opening briefcase number 14 that contained the P1 million. Even though that’s the case, she still considered herself fortunate for not heeding her mom’s suggestion to choose number19 as it was revealed to hold the dreaded P1.
AC managed to bounce back in the third, fourth, and fifth rounds as the briefcases she removed contained relatively low amounts, which made her jump out of sheer joy. Her hidden skills in juggling got unraveled in the fourth round as banker dared her through Luis to showcase it, with the amount of his offer supposedly depending on how well she performed. Her spontaneous performance apparently wowed banker, thus giving her an offer of P77,777.

Her chances of securing any of the remaining high amounts of P125,000 and P100,000 may have vanished after opening the briefcases that held them, but that didn’t extinguish her courgae to fight for her briefcase until the end and say, “NO DEAL” to banker’s final offer of P22,222. Fortunately, her YOLO spirit paid off as her chosen briefcase was revealed to contain P50,000, allowing her to beat banker and still walk away a winner.
Asked about her “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal” experience afterwards, she told Luis, “Sobrang saya. I'm glad my mom is here to experience it. Magre-replay din po 'to sa kapag nasa bahay na for sure papanoorin po niya. Kaya I'm just excited to have this a little bit of tulong din po sa mga kids.”
The episode wrapped up with AC celebrating her victory alongside her fellow lucky stars.
