The May 30 episode of “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal” was indeed filled with fun and surprises and ended with a totally shocking twist—thanks to the completely amusing game of lucky star player Eric Fructuoso, who ‘fessed up about not being ready yet to play that night.
Eric was visibly stunned when the lucky wheel landed on briefcase number 10—the case assigned to him since the start of the current season—making him the celebrity player for the episode.
As Luis asked how he felt, Eric immediately exclaimed, “Yari!” The Pambansang Host then confirmed with the other lucky stars that Eric had actually been saying backstage before the show that he wasn’t prepared to play if ever he got selected.
When quizzed about what he would do with the P1 million jackpot if he won it, Eric said he would divide the prize equally amomg his children. He also followed the advice of Mommy Ganda, one-half of content creator duo “The Aguinaldos,” and decided to keep his assigned briefcase instead of swapping with another lucky star.
Despite being hopeful, Eric’s luck seemed to run out almost immediately. In the very first round, he opened three of the highest amounts on the board. His situation worsened when Inah Evans’ briefcase number 7 revealed the coveted P1 million, eliminating the top prize from contention.

His string of unfortunate picks continued in the next two rounds as he uncovered the remaining high-value amounts of P150,000 and P500,000. As a result, Banker’s offers steadily dropped—from five-digit amounts early in the game to measly three-digit offers by the fourth through sixth rounds.
Just when everyone expected Eric to continue until the end—like previous celebrity players had done—he shocked everyone by accepting Banker’s offer of P101. Amused by the unexpected move, Luis joked, “Ako’y natutuwa… Sa P101 na ’yan, isa lang ang hihingiin ko: huwag mo kaming kakalimutan.”
As the remaining briefcases were opened, it initially appeared that Eric had made a costly mistake, as several of them contained only smaller amounts. But in the end, he still made the right decision since his briefcase was revealed to only have P100, allowing him to beat Banker by P1. The hilarious, unexpected outcome became even more memorable because of its amusing connection to Eric’s beloved pet dog named “Piso.”
