After receiving a call from her sister, Maxene (Arci Muñoz), informing her that their parents, Ricardo (Edu Manzano) and Isobel (Carmi Martin), were ganged up on by the people of Barangay Ginintuang Lupa, Sam (Julia Montes) immediately became worried. Thus, even though she was in the middle of work, she left the office and rushed home to personally check their condition.
While Isobel was apologetic to Sam for missing her calls, Ricardo reprimanded her for coming home when she was supposed to be at work. Sam explained that she was genuinely concerned for their safety and asked why they still insisted on visiting the place despite her warning that it was too risky and dangerous.
Ricardo firmly argued that there was nothing wrong with visiting land that legally belonged to him. Trying to ease the tension, Isobel reminded him that Sam was only worried about them and assured their daughter that they were both fine—but Ricardo remained adamant.
As Sam suggested that they postpone the demolition because they had no idea what the angry residents might do next to them, Ricardo and instantly dismissed the idea and insisted that he knew exactly what he was doing and what needed to be done with his property.
Isobel tried to stop him from speaking, but Ricardo still continued, reminding Sam that he’s an ex-general who always gets things done and never lets anyone influence him what to do, most especially her.
Seeing how deeply Ricardo's words affected Sam, Isobel comforted her and apologized on his behalf. She explained that he was probably still shaken by what had happened earlier and insisted that he didn't truly mean what he had said. However, Sam quietly admitted that she knew her father meant every word, so there was no need for Isobel to defend him.
Isobel pleaded with Sam not to hold a grudge against him or hate him, to which the latter assured that she could never hate her father since she’s actually been doing everything to prove herself worthy of his love and forgiveness.
The doting mother comforted her daughter by saying that her father surely loves her, yet he simply has a different way of expressing it, instantly bringing her to tears. Before she further got emotional, Sam bade her Isobel goodbye and returned to the office.
