It’s finally time for Barbie Imperial to dominate the spotlight in “Blood vs Duty,” most especially for her fiercer representation of Jamilah Abubakar, the Muslim heroine joining forces with her brother Jalil Abubakar (Gerald Anderson) and Agent Marcus Reyes (Richard Gutierrez) in the mission to eradicate the injustices inflicted by traitors operating within NLEA.
On June 19, Barbie proudly unveiled on her Instagram profile the special footage of her meticulously executed stunt training supervised by the show’s action director Erwin Tagle in Tag Team Studio.
As the video played, the Kapamilya actress is captured smoothly perfecting her action-ready stance, gun-disarming techniques, and piercing gaze. Besides these, she also showed proficiency with her knife-maneuvering abilities, particularly resulting in immobilizing and eliminating her armed opponents.
Barbie’s newly developed combat skills were highlighted even more in episode 55 of “Blood vs Duty,” in which her character, Jamilah, caught the attention of Marcus when she overpowered one of Felix’s (Baron Geisler) henchmen with an incredibly powerful eye gouge.
Before that point, Jamilah had always been an independent and fearless woman, even venturing to Manila alone in search of her father, Datu Rahman (Jaime Fabregas), when he was arrested and handed over to NLEA for supposedly being linked to the widespread smuggling of illegal firearms.
When it comes down to helping her brother, Jalil, in rescuing Datu Rahman, Jamilah continues to be incredibly selfless. Despite Jalil’s hesitancy, as he wanted to secure Jamilah’s safety, she was eventually able to convince him.

Soon enough, she succeeded in her own plans by working as a nurse in S. Trinidad Hospital, aiming to form a close bond with Teresa (Susan Africa), Marcus’ mother. Throughout the horrifying hostage situation at the hospital by Metal 13, Jamilah resisted against Axl (Marc Abaya) and Jovi (Joem Bascon), even pierced Jovi with her scalpel, making way for Marcus to defeat him.
Watch out for more of Jamilah’s triumphs in the extreme high-risk confrontations in “Blood vs Duty,” streaming on iWant and airing weeknights at 8pm on ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and Kapamilya Online Live (KOL).
