She may not have won the jackpot or the P250,000 minimum prize she had hoped for, but celebrity player Asia Yoona still got her happy ending after wisely accepting Banker’s ₱109,999 offer during during her “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal” game aired on June 14.
With “fairytale” as their word for the evening, the episode commenced with host Luis Manzano quizzing two lucky stars about the happy endings they’ve been yearning for. For Lester Abion of the content creator duo The Aguinaldos, it was giving his parents a comfortable life, while Negi, shared that he simply hopes to find the right person to spend the rest of his life with.
Lucky star Asia Yoona, absolutely ravishing in a red dress, couldn’t contain her emotions as she witnessed the lucky wheel stopped at number 18—which had been assigned to her ever since the beginning of the current season—and Luis officially declared her as the celebrity player for the episode.
When asked how she was feeling, she admitted, “Naiiyak ako,” prompting Luis to jokingly threaten to replace her since he did not want to see any of his beloved lucky stars cry. However, she reassured him that she was ready to play despite feeling nervous and pressured.
Quizzed what she considered her own happy ending, the 22-year-old content creator and model shared that it would be being able to provide for her family and finish her psychology degree. Coincidentally, three of her closest friends—Eli Padilla, Karl Abarquez, and Aeva Lopez—were present in the studio on the very day that she needed their moral support the most. To further boost her confidence, the host asked her “loveteam partner” Long, whom she also regarded as her “happy ending,” for a special message.
Rather than keeping her original briefcase, Asia chose to swap it for Christine Samson’s number 9, believing it would bring her luck because it represented her father's birthday.
As the opening briefcases started, she disclosed having a strategy, which was immediately proven to be a failure since she immediately eliminated the P500,000 prize. The setback continued in the second round after she opened the briefcase containing the ₱1 million jackpot, leading Luis to suggest that she finally seek advice from her friends. After both successfully helped eliminate low-value amounts, Luis jokingly remarked that they seemed better suited to play the game than Asia herself.
During the third round, Asia became visibly emotional when Banker, through Luis, expressed admiration for her dedication to supporting herself through school using income from her work. Her emotions further poured out when Luis asked what made her suddenly become emotional.

“Kami na lang po kasi ng dad ko ang magkasama. So, very important din po sa akin na magkaroon kami ng good life. And no’ng pandemic po kasi, syempre, maraming mamamayan na nawalan din po ng work. So, ever since po, naghe-help po ako sa dad ko, and gusto ko rin po talagang makapagtapos ng college,” she related, trying to fight back her tears.
Asia’s choice to switch briefcases was validated when it was revealed in the fourth round that her original briefcase, number 18, held only ₱100. However, her decision to trust one of her friend’s suggestions of opening briefcase number 6 proved costly as it contained ₱150,000—one of the remaining high amounts.
Although her target minimum prize of ₱250,000 was still on the money board, she decided to say “DEAL” to Banker’s final offer of ₱109,999 after the remaining high amount of ₱125,000 was removed. And she indeed made the right decision as her chosen briefcase was revealed to only hold ₱50, while the ₱250,000 prize was in number 14, assigned to The Aguinaldos.
While neither the jackpot nor her target minimum prize came her way, Asia and her fellow lucky stars were overjoyed that she was still able to achieve a happy ending.
