Having devoted three months in Basilan to strengthening their people’s Civilian Defense Service Unit, the valiant Jalil (Gerald Anderson), one of Datu Rahman’s (Jaime Fabregas) children, finally makes it back to his village by boat and is greeted by his community and dearest sister, Jamilah (Barbie Imperial).
In response to Jamilah’s concerns over him, he gives her the assurance that regardless of the circumstances, he will return home. When Datu Rahman approaches Jalil, they share a quick embrace and begin to address the relentless arrival of illegal firearms on their land.
Once Datu Rahman, Jalil, and the others reconvened within a small hut, safely hiding the weapons, it was expected that the organized crime syndicates were the ones dropping this kind of contraband nearby. Even if they do inform the police, the potential danger may be that they’re affiliated with the syndicates in a system of corruption.
Jalil further rejects his people’s sentiments regarding the weapons being used to protect their village from abusers, especially after the recent kidnappings that targeted the women of Rio Hermoso. He points out that they will certainly be viewed wrongly if they do so.
During this period of uncertainty and looming fear, they retain the solution of burying the illegal firearms.
