Stella (Kim Chiu) refuses to accept Vincent's (Paulo Avelino) help in the April 20 episode of “The Alibi.”
Before the authorities could visit Stella and ask about her reason for being at the resort the night Walter (Sam Milby) died, Vincent had already informed her about their visit to him. While Stella thanks him for contacting her beforehand, Vincent cannot help but wonder why she was at the resort at that time. Stella insists that she had work to do, and Vincent presses further.
Stella refuses to give more answers. Vincent tries to apologize to her, saying he had not expected that she would still be interrogated about the case, and asks if she still feels bad about what happened between them. Stella tells him that she never meant to hold grudges in the first place. “Alam ko naman ‘tong set-up na pinasok natin eh. Wala naman akong karapatang magdamdam, sanay naman ako na ginagamit lang ako,” she says.
Vincent tells Stella that he is protecting her despite the chaos, but Stella does not believe him. “I'm sorry for bringing you into this mess,” Vincent apologizes, noticing that she is exhausted by the situation despite keeping up a brave face.
“Stella, I want you to know that I appreciate you,” Vincent knows that she also needs someone who will protect her. Tears form in Stella's eyes. “Tama na. Nakuha ko naman na yung kailangan ko.” She remains unfazed as she is also focused on looking for her lost sister, Joy. Vincent tries to offer help, but Stella pushes him away.
