The death of Alice’s (Janella Salvador) father, Mike (Geoff Eigenmann), becomes even more tragic when Edward (Joel Molina) uncovers how Mike tracked down his crimes.
At the time, Mike had learned of Ella’s disappearance at the public market and was shocked to learn from her parents that she was fond of Edward, who had given her lots of lollipops whenever he would visit their eatery.
Mike didn’t let his hunches fade further as he tried to search for clues, especially with Edward’s reactions, which he noticed would seem more alerted than usual before reverting his expression to a normal one.
Back at the Quintana residence, Alice’s mother, Susan (Carlene Aguilar), mistakenly bought a jar of lollipops similar to the ones Edward would gift Alice. She, alongside Mike, realized that Alice suddenly refused to take the candies, an unexpected behavior for them since the candies had become her favorite.
Days later, Mike arrived at the church donation drive again, where he witnessed Edward offering the same lollipop to another child, as well as inappropriately caressing her. The familiarity of the scene immediately led Mike to the conclusion that Edward had indeed done something malicious to Alice.
Angered, Mike aggressively grabbed Edward’s collar, asking him about Alice. Christina’s (Emma Viri) worried reaction as well as the people’s gazes stopped him from beating Edward further, and he drove away in tears.
As Mike wept along the road, teen Alice (Eliza Borromeo) called for him to pick her up from school. It was the day when they got involved in a car crash that killed Mike, also the same moment when he was about to speak with Alice about Edward.
At present, Alice breaks down upon the truth, spewing hateful remarks at Edward, whom they treated as a dear family member. Alice then began retaliating, and Edward overpowered her, covering her cries for help.
