The fun was on another ‘todo na ‘to!’ level as Round 13 of "Your Face Sounds Familiar" continued. Fresh from her previous win as Mexican singer-actress Thalía, Alexa Ilacad served another 'pasabog' with her new transformation as Rufa Mae Quinto.
During mentoring, celebrity coaches Klarisse De Guzman and Nyoy Volante emphasized that the key to the performance was capturing the Comedy Bombshell’s personality. In other words, Alexa had to learn how to really let loose and just be carefree and playful on stage.
And she definitely delivered, with jokes that were very spontaneous and she even slipping in a funny moment with guest judge Erik Santos, Rufa Mae’s ex-boyfriend. She nailed the nuances of the veteran comedienne while singing "Booba," the theme song of Rufa Mae’s iconic movie of the same title.
That's why Alexa couldn’t hide her joy when juror Sharon Cuneta gave the act an 11 out of 10 rating, saying there’s basically nothing Alexa can’t do—and that’s why she believes the Gen Z Total Performer will go places. As Ogie Alcasid put it, Alexa is truly a one-of-a-kind talent.
Erik even felt like the spectacle transported him back to the past. If there’s anyone in that studio who really knows Rufa Mae well, it would be him because of their shared history. So when he said Alexa captured the voice, movement and character of the icon she was portraying, he definitely knew what he was talking about.
