There is no doubt that she is dubbed the “Songbird Supreme,” as Mariah Carey's powerhouse vocals truly make her unique and one of the most legendary pop icons in the industry. From her ballad hits like “I'll Be There” to R&B classics such as “Honey,” Mariah's wide-ranging discography keeps her a playlist staple to this day.

To keep the emotions high, several ka-Familiars took on the role of the American hitmaker, transforming into Mariah Carey on “Your Face Sounds Familiar.

Karla Estrada (YFSF Season 1, 2015) - “I'll Be There”

The ‘iconator’ brought out Karla Estrada to sing the hit “I’ll Be There,” blessing everyone with her vocals. The audience was captivated by her performance, and cheers erupted whenever she hit the notes perfectly like Mariah.

Judge Boy Abunda began with a strong remark, “I could watch you forever.” He added that he loved Karla’s overall number. Coach Jed Madela was fascinated, saying, “Ako ‘yung na-excite, kasi alam ko na vocally, no question, Karla is one of those who can really sing. Hands down na ako.

Judge Sharon Cuneta called the performance wonderful, even adding that Karla was just as perfectly sexy as Mariah. She lauded her wholeheartedly.

Karla placed 6th at the end of the season.

Karla Estrada (YFSF Season 2, 2015) - “Endless Love“ with Michael Pangilinan

Giving their own take on “Endless Love,” Karla Estrada embodied Mariah Carey in a special duet performance with Michael Pangilinan, who took on the role of Luther Vandross. Singing live, the two delivered the song perfectly.

“Alam natin na si Karla isang napaka-powerful na performer,” said Judge Gary Valenciano, adding that Karla helped Michael bring out a new side of himself as Luther Vandross.

Elha Nympha (YFSF Kids Season 1, 2017) - “Honey”

Vocal powerhouse Elha Nympha performed the R&B hit “Honey,” adding flair and moves reminiscent of Mariah’s. After her performance, Elha shared that she was happy with how it turned out, as she embodied her own idol. She even proved she could do Mariah’s signature whistle register.

“Ang galing-galing mo, relaxed na relaxed, it was so effortless,” said Judge Sharon Cuneta. When it comes to vocals, Judge Gary Valenciano rated Elha as the most excellent of all. “I still think you did an excellent job. Andyan ‘yung rhythm, ‘yung blues, ‘yung timing mo is excellent.”

Judge Ogie Alcasid was in awe of Elha. “It was too easy for you,” he remarked, noting that she even captured Mariah’s subtle nuances on stage, which totally impressed him.

Elha placed 2nd at the end of the season.

Francis Concepcion of TNT Boys (YFSF Kids Season 2, 2018) - “One Sweet Day“ with Kiefer Sanchez and Mackie Empuerto

Francis Concepcion transformed into little Mariah Carey for a night as he performed “One Sweet Day” with fellow TNT Boys Kiefer Sanchez and Mackie Empuerto as Boyz II Men. The trio impressed not only the judges but everyone in the studio. Francis unleashed his inner diva, even slaying Mariah’s vocal range.

Giving the TNT Boys a standing ovation after their number, the judges were left with goosebumps from what the trio had shown. Judge Ogie Alcasid stressed how challenging it must have been for the three to perform, entertain, and add their own charm whenever they faced the audience, and how proud he was of them.

Agreeing with Ogie, Judge Sharon Cuneta said that the TNT Boys were a blessing to everyone. “Sobra kaming napapabilib sa inyo… nagsa-shine yung tatlo. Hindi nag-aagawan ng eksena.” As for Coach Jed Madela, he expressed his gratitude to the trio for being such amazing performers.

TNT Boys was the grand winner of the season.

Klarisse De Guzman (YFSF Season 3, 2021) - “Through the Rain”

Proving herself once again as the diva that she is, Klarisse De Guzman delivered her own take on “Through the Rain” by Mariah Carey. Klarisse gave an emotional yet powerful performance, perfectly capturing Mariah’s trademark whistle register.

Judge Sharon Cuneta always looked forward to Klarisse’s performances, knowing she would never be disappointed. “May sarili kang style pero nagawa mo si Mariah. That was another fantastic job,” she added. Judge Ogie Alcasid kept his comment short but impactful, “Ibang klase ka.

Meanwhile, Judge Gary Valenciano highlighted how audiences usually clap beforehand when someone performs, but with Klarisse, everyone eagerly anticipates what she will bring to the stage. He remarked, “Itinabi mo talaga yung boses mo, at ibinigay mo sa amin ang boses ni Mariah Carey.

Klarisse was the grand winner of the season.

Marielle Montellano (YFSF Season 4, 2026) - “Hero” with JM Dela Cerna

From her range of transformations, this time Marielle Montellano became the Songbird Supreme as she sang “Hero” with JM Dela Cerna, who took on Luciano Pavarotti. Aside from serving perfectly good vocals, Marielle even added adlibs and nuances just like Mariah.

Judge Sharon Cuneta said that Marielle truly looked like Mariah Carey during the number. She added that she could not say anything more about what they had shown, as JMielle always delivers a good performance. “You're too good. You didn't really grow up copying Mariah's style, ‘yung shifting-shifting niya, pero ginagawa mo kanina,” she praised.

Guest Judge Erik Santos noted that the two were truly in character. “That's too basic for you guys. Vocally, visually, everything was really good,” he said. Finally, Judge Ogie Alcasid summed everything up as effortless.
