The closer it gets to Big Night, the bigger the challenges become for the "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0" housemates.
After Lella Ford (for the Kapamilya bracket) and Caprice Cayetano (for the Kapuso category) secured their individual tickets to the Big Jump Challenge through the votes of their fellow housemates, it was time to find out who they’d be facing off with in the said task.
Their opponents would be determined through back-to-back elimination rounds, where the remaining housemates were split into two groups—Team Kapamilya and Team Kapuso—each group facing a different match. Whoever would emerge victorious from each team would go head-to-head with Lella and Caprice in the Big Jump Challenge, which will ultimately determine the first Kapamilya and Kapuso housemates to officially secure a spot in The Ultimate 8.
Each troupe had the chance to choose their elimination challenge, but the catch was that they could only decide based on picture clues. First up was the Kapamilya division, made up of Joaquin Arce, Krystal Mejes, Carmelle Collado, and Miguel Vergara, competing in the Ultimate Memory Game.
In this 'brainplay,' a set of thirty objects was displayed on the plasma TV, which served as the players' visual guide. The image was flashed repeatedly, but with each cycle limited to a short viewing window only, so the housemates had to memorize both the specific items and the exact order in which they appeared. They also had to build an improvised rod, which they would use to pick up the actual items scattered across the garden area.
In the living room play area, they had to arrange the retrieved items on a divider, following the exact arrangement from Kuya’s original set. The housemate who could collect all the correct pieces and place them in the right sequence would win the round and secure a Big Ticket to the Big Jump.
Once Kuya laid out the mechanics, the plasma flashed the full 30-object pattern they needed to follow. The housemates’ initial strategy was to grab the things they could clearly recall along with their corresponding ordinal numbers. While the other three got their rhythm fast, Krystal struggled just getting her rod ready.
Later on, they changed techniques and tried to grab as many items as they could first, before arranging them all at once on the shelf. Midway through, Kuya dropped clues on how many errors each housemate had in their lineup.
Once all the dividers were filled, Kuya announced the number of incorrect placements per housemate. Miguel had five mistakes, Joaquin had four, Carmelle had one, and Krystal also had one. The task continued, giving them more time to review and fix the sequence of their items.
In the end, Joaquin was announced as the winner. Carmelle and Krystal came close with just one error each, while Miguel ended with three. Joaquin called it a miracle win, which only his faith had made possible.
So, it’s going to be Lella versus Joaquin for the Kapamilya category in the upcoming Big Jump Challenge! Catch "PBB Collab 2.0," available online via livestream on the PBB YouTube Channel, Kapamilya Online Live (KOL), and iWant.
