There's only about a month left before "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0" Big Night. And as the fight for a spot in the “Ultimate 8” (composed of the Kapamilya Big 4 and Kapuso Big 4) begins this week, Big Brother gave the housemates a little teaser of the noise coming from the outside world.
One by one, the housemates entered the confession room, where they were asked to name one Kapuso and one Kapamilya whom they believe deserve a ticket to the Big Jump Challenge—an all-important task that will determine who among them will secure a place in the Ultimate 8.
Before casting their votes, Big Brother offered them the chance to hear what the outside world thinks of them and their housemates, and if so, whose it's about and whether it would be a positive or negative one.
Staying true to his 2026 goal of “improving” and learning to listen more, Joaquin chose to hear the opinions of people from the outside about himself for the sake of self-growth.
His first pick was a harsh statement from a basher who called him a “typical spoiled and out-of-touch kid,” and said "minsan insensitive pa nga, no wonder umiiwas ang housemates sa kanya." Instead of clapping back, Joaquin stayed calm and owned up to it. He admitted that yes, he used to be pretty insensitive, especially with throwing around jokes that were quite tasteless and offensive. "Isa po ito sa mga problema ko na I wanted to fix," Joaquin reflected.
Interestingly, Joaquin also wanted to hear a hate comment about Lella Ford, which said, "Paano magiging deserving maging Big Winner ang isang top violator sa Bahay Ni Kuya?" He reacted, clearly disagreeing. For him, Lella may have had the most violations before, but he personally witnessed how she improved by learning to be more receptive and follow the rules.
In the end, Joaquin went for a little love by choosing to listen to a supporter who praised his "rawness" and character development inside the house. "Makulit siya before pero he knows when to tone it down. Lately nga marunong na siyang makinig sa mga tao at hindi na namimilit ng gusto niya."
For Joaquin, hearing both the negative feedback and the positive ones will help him gain a clearer perspective on how he sees himself and how he wants to grow.
