Dia Mate found the key to the jury's heart with her Alicia Keys transformation on "Your Face Sounds Familiar."
Stepping out of the iconator in a sultry, sparkly black dress, Dia confidently sat at the piano and began singing "If I Ain’t Got You," drawing in the audience with her soulful delivery.
The jury for the episode—Gary Valenciano, Klarisse De Guzman, and Karla Estrada—shared their honest but appreciative take on her performance.
For Gary, while Dia didn’t fully match Alicia’s vocal identity (which he noted is understandably difficult), he was still moved by her take on the award-winning piece. "I'm really very torn right now," he said. "Halos hindi ko narinig 'yung boses ni Alicia Keys tonight pero... nagustuhan ko 'yung version na narinig ko, eh. May character. May dating na kakaiba... Nagustuhan ko 'yung kalidad ng boses mo. "
Karla agreed, adding, "Ang hirap gayahin kung paano si Alicia Keys but distinct din ang voice mo." And echoing the same sentiment, Klarisse told Dia, "Kung tatanggalin mo 'yung side ng impersonation, ang ganda ng version mo." She acknowledged how tough the challenge must’ve been for her given how different her vocal range is from Alicia’s, but expressed how proud she was that Dia took it on anyway.
