After years of joining singing competitions and finally winning as a duo via ‘Tawag Ng Tanghalan Duets 2’ on “It’s Showtime,” there's no challenge Christian Tibayan and Arvery Lagoring would ever back down from. They’ve been through the emotional rollercoaster of TV contests, so what’s a little game, right?
Welcome to Kapamilya Chat's “The Rip-Off” Challenge where they pick a number and take the corresponding musical dare!
Christian was up first and picked number 5, which prompted him to sing a classic 'birit' piece. And of course, being the vocally blessed future pop icon that he is, he went with “This Is The Moment,” a song that became a staple in singing contests after Erik Santos won "Star in a Million" with it in 2004.
Not to be outdone, Arvery followed with her own 'birit' moment and casually flexed her soaring vocals with “Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin.” She slayed that high note like it was nothing!
The OST Dreamers are really proving that they’re the future OST masters! But don’t think they’re all about dramatic 'birit’ because they can also go the upbeat route. When asked to give a sample of a 'kagiling-giling' (danceable) song, Christian switched to P-pop mode with WRIVE’s “Ooh La La,” which he proudly said is part of his personal playlist, while Arvery served a sultry sample of Sarah Geronimo’s “Duyan"
The next category, songs by Regine Velasquez, felt tailor-made for Arvery, who went straight for “Isang Lahi” and nailed it. Christian, on the other hand, took the romantic lane with his swoon-worthy version of “Araw Gabi.”
To wrap it all up, they joined forces for a duet under the "song for the brokenhearted" category, ripping our hearts with "Ano'ng Nangyari Sa Ating Dalawa," complete with their signature 'OST Dreamers' blending.
