MANILA -- Arvery Lagoring and Christian Tibayan, known as the OST Dreamers, are still in disbelief after they were announced as the grand winners of “TNT Duets 2” over the weekend.
At the Huling Tapatan finals last Saturday, January 17, the two won the competition after receiving the highest combined judges’ score of 99.6%.
In Showtime's Monday episode, Lagoring and Tibayan once again performed their winning song "Kapag Ako'y Nagmahal" by Jolina Magdangal.
"Hanggang ngayon po hindi pa rin kami makapaniwala po. Parang panaginip lang po ang lahat," said Lagoring, who also shared the joy of her family.
"Sobrang saya po nila. Umiyak po talaga si mama," she added.
For Libayan, he said that he just can't belief that he and Lagoring are now doing production numbers as guests on "It's Showtime."
"Kasama ko po 'yung parents ko rito noong live. Actually po kanina noong nagre-rehearse kami ng prod kasi hindi ako makapaniwala na nagpo-prod na kami rito together," said Libayan, who joined TNT previously before winning "TNT Duets 2" with Lagoring.
"Pangatlo ko po sa Tawag ng Tanghalan; sumali din po ako ng ‘Idol Philippines’ Season 2," said Libayan.
For her part, Lagoring said that aside from joining TNT before she also joined “The Voice Teens.” "Pang-apat po. Sumali din po ako ng ‘The Voice Teens’ din po," Lagoring said.
Joining the 2016 trend, Lagoring and Tibayan also shared their dreams 10 years ago. Both were dreaming of having a career in music.
In her throwback photo, Lagoring shared that she was thinking of doing concert at that time. "Naglalaro po kami riyan at what if ganoon po, parang concert po," she said.
For Libayan, he admitted being emotional as he recalled his dream 10 years ago of singing on ABS-CBN.
"Actually noong pinahanap nila sa social media, nakita ko yung caption sa kumakanta ako. Ang nakalagay 'In His time God will surely grant desires of my heart.' Medyo na emotional ako kasi noong time na 'yan shini-share ko sa lahat sa best friends ko elementary pa lang, high school na parangap ko po talagang makakanta sa ABS-CBN and ngayon natupad na ang pangarap ko, kaya sobrang answered prayer.
In the program, the duo shared things that they are looking forward to now that they are singing champions.
"Lagi po kaming nag-uusap. Sana ay tuloy-tuloy na 'yung opportuniy sa namin, sa bagong journey namin. Pinagpi-pray namin na makapag-concert at pinagpi-pray namin na makapag-concert together," said Tibayan.
At the Huling Tapatan finals last Saturday, the two won against the duos of Ian Manibale and Jezza Quiogue with 95.6%, and of JR Oclarit and Mark Justo with 95.4%.
Tibayan and Lagoring received standing ovation from Huling Tapatan judges composed of Louie Ocampo, Ogie Alcasid, Jonathan Manalo, Bituin Escalante, Erik Santos, Nyoy Volante, Darren Espanto, Sofronio Vasquez, Kyla, and JM Yosures after their final-round performance, belting Jolina Magdangal’s hit single “Kapag Ako Ay Nagmahal.”
The new TNT Duets grand champions won ₱500,000, an ABS-CBN Music recording contract, a Star Magic management contract, and a special trophy designed by Toym Imao.
JezzIan won ₱200,000, while PangmalaCousins won ₱100,000.
"It's Showtime" airs Monday to Saturday at 12 noon on GMA, Kapamilya Channel, ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Online Live, iWant, and TFC IPTV.
