Emil (Joel Torre) faces off with Magnus (Raymond Bagatsing) and reveals the truth about Ayen (Yassi Pressman) in the January 14 episode of “Roja.” As Liam (Donny Pangilinan) and Magnus go head-to-head with Emil, the latter confronts Magnus about what he did to Ayen that ruined her life.
Magnus sacrifices himself for Liam, telling Emil to let Liam live and shoot him instead. But Emil wants both of them gone, fueled by his fury at Liam, who almost killed Leni (Rikki Mae Davao), and at Magnus for what he did to his other daughter, Ayen. Magnus is confused by Emil’s accusation, to which Emil adds, “Pinaasa mo siya, sinabi mong mahal mo siya, iiwan mo ang asawa mo dahil sa kanya, pero ano’ng ginawa mo? Niloko mo siya! Niloko mo si Ayen!” This revelation---that Emil’s daughter is Ayen---shocks both Liam and Magnus.
A flashback shows Magnus and Ayen, where Magnus gifts Ayen a new house to live in, since they can no longer see each other inside the La Playa Roja premises after being caught by Magnus’ family. Ayen, who was pregnant at the time, is delighted by his surprise. “Alam naman ng asawa mo yung tungkol sa atin e, ‘di ba? Alam na niya na ‘di mo na siya mahal, na iiwanan mo na siya,” she later asks Magnus.
Magnus explains that leaving his wife Greta (Lorna Tolentino) is not that simple, which Ayen understands. Still, she reminds him of the promise he once made, to leave his family for her, and she holds on to that hope. She hugs Magnus in return, grateful for his love.
