Having helped the victims escape Emil (Joel Torre) and his wrath, Ian (Harvey Bautista) tries to convince his brother, Dado (Bernard Palanca), to retreat and stop the siege in the January 12 episode of “Roja.” Emil’s tactics grow more dangerous as he launches his attack against the authorities and the victims.
As he orders his men to begin their assault, the authorities execute their plan to escape with the victims---and they also intend to take Ian with them. However, Dado manages to take Ian away and flee. While Emil tries to contact Dado, the latter is already hiding in the suburbs with Ian.
Later, Ian pleads with Dado to halt their plans and end the ongoing siege. “Sumuko na tayo… ginusto lang natin magkapera, di ba, para makapag-aral ako. Para pagbalik natin, makapagsimula tayo ng negosyo, di ‘ba?” he reminds Dado, who remains unmoved by his sentiments.
“Ian, ninakawan tayo… hindi ka pa pinapanganak, dito ako lumaki sa isla. ‘Yong bahay natin, tinayo ‘yon ng mga magulang natin,” Dado explains, recalling how, when La Playa Roja was developed, they were forced to leave their homes. Ian asks if they truly owned the island, but Dado cannot confirm---still, he is determined to exact revenge against the Roja family. Ian responds with a striking question, “Paano mo mababawi ang isang bagay na hindi sa inyo?” but Dado refuses to answer.
Back at their safe house, Magnus (Raymond Bagatsing) and Chief Ben (Levi Ignacio) inform Greta (Lorna Tolentino) and Wendy (Janice de Belen) that Olsen (Kyle Echarri) and Liam (Donny Pangilinan) are missing. At that very moment, Fin (Igi Boy Flores) arrives, reporting that Ian has escaped their premises and that Liam and Olsen went after him.
