Liam (Donny Pangilinan) and Greta (Lorna Tolentino) make amends in the January 7 episode of “Roja.” After regaining consciousness from being shot during his confrontation with Uno (Joel Torre), Liam is cared for by his mother, Greta. She informs him that, according to the authorities, their freedom from the siege is drawing near as they prepare to escape.
Later on, despite Greta insisting that she’s okay, Liam reiterates that he knows she isn’t. “Galit ka pa ba?” Greta asks her son, and before he can answer, he recalls his conversation with Luna (Maymay Entrata). At that moment, he had asked her if she would do anything for her family---even foolish acts. Luna admitted that such choices are indeed wrong, but explained that once they reach that point, they would probably understand why Greta did what she had to.
“Sa tingin ko po, mali talaga ‘yong ginawa niyo,” Liam responds to Greta’s question. “Pero, Ma… ‘di ko naman kayang magalit nang matagal,” he adds. “Mahal na mahal po kita.” Greta is moved to tears, relieved that her son has chosen to forgive her.
“Ang daming nangyayari, Ma. Hindi ko na po alam kung sino ang mapagkakatiwalaan,” Liam adds, reflecting on yet another betrayal. He recalls how Smile (Rikki Mae Davao), whom he thought was just a friendly staff of La Playa Roja, turned out to be Uno’s daughter.
Liam goes on to tell Greta about the things he discovered regarding Uno. “Planado lahat. Bawat detalye,” he says. But before he can continue, he asks Greta about what she had previously confessed while he was thought to be unconscious. “Ano po ‘yong kasalanan niyo?” Liam asks. Greta, visibly nervous, reiterates that she was apologizing for what she did to Wendy (Janice de Belen).
While they are talking, Luna enters the room and asks Liam about his condition. After she leaves, Greta tells Liam how proud she is of him, but he responds in despair. “Hindi ko naligtas lahat ng staff natin, Ma,” he says. Greta tries to comfort him, and Liam vows to ensure that the criminals responsible for the deaths of their guests and staff will pay for what they did.
