Since many of them have to live far away from their families in order to pursue their showbiz dreams and to work hard to support the needs of their loved ones, our favorite celebrities—for sure—have been sorely missing home.
Among them are some of the cast members of the ABS-CBN Studios primetime series “Sins of the Father,” who fondly talked about in this exclusive video the food items that instantly make them feel at home regardless of where they are!
Three of them consider the Filipino viand adobo as the food that never fails to remind them of home.
Binsoy Namoca, who plays Josh of Paeng’s (Nico Antonio) “Oplan Robinhood,” specifically mentions his father’s version of adobong manok since he firmly believes that it’s him who cooks it best.
Newcomer Ace Carrera, who appears on the series as Ralph, says that adobo might be a staple viand for Filipinos, yet it’s one of his favorite dishes that his Mama cooks for him. But whether his mom or his family is around him or not, as long as there’s adobo, he would always feel at home wherever he is.
Ashton Salvador, who portrays Gavin, remarks that, for him, it’s none other than the pininyahang adobo that his grandma would always cook for them ever since he was a kid—and it has been the best adobo for him ever since.
Speaking of pininyahan, Reign Parani, who allures viewers as aspiring model-turned-casino dealer Diane Mendoza, reveals that it’s either pininyahang manok or hamonado for her, no doubt. Well, it’s basically because she loves Christmas, and these are among the dishes usually being served during her most favorite time of the year.
Amy Nobleza, who plays Rowena, and Junjun Quintana, who plays Alex Tobias, meanwhile, both kept their responses short by simply uttering the foods that easily make them miss home, which are bagoong and sinigang na hipon, respectively.
She may be gradually rising to stardom, but Kolette Madelo, who portrays Tin of “Oplan Robinhood,” will always be a probinsyana by heart. And for her, tinola is the best food to eat whenever she goes back to her hometown.
And lastly, it seems that Lei Ang, who’s as feisty and hot as her character Abby del Rosario in real life, is into spicy food. She isn’t able to contain her delight as she divulges that laing is her ultimate comfort food, which we Filipinos know is a Bicolano dish made of dried shredded taro leaves, coconut milk, and labuyo chili.
What about you, Kapamilya? Which food instantly reminds you of home regardless of where you are?
