Avid audiences of the ABS-CBN Studios primetime series “Sins of the Father” were likely astonished and, at the same time, outraged while watching the “1 vs 100” sequences, in which Gerald Anderson’s character, Samuel Trinidad, was seen bravely tackling the 100 goons whom his nemeses, Roldan (Joko Diaz) and Jacob (JC De Vera), hired in their another attempt to finish him off—all by himself.

However, it was not only this wicked and ruthless deed of the Rivera brothers against Samuel that enraged us, but also how their cohorts in the criminal group they are both part of toyed with Samuel or treated him as if he was a character in a video game.

Unbeknownst to Samuel, he was actually being watched by the group, comprised of Congressman Abel Montelibano (Simon Ibarra), Mateo de Vergara (Eric Fructuso), Pastor Ferdie Almonte (Joel  Saracho), Valentino Narciso (Mel Martinez), Rebekkah Madlangbayan (Malou Crisologo), and General Diego Ramirez (Tirso Cruz III), who treated our mighty and gutsy protagonist as a character in a game as they wagered whether he would make it out alive or not.

The Rivera brothers then arrived and joined their wager, only to be outsmarted by Samuel without him knowing it as he jumped off the rooftop in order to save himself from imminent death. Since they had no clear agreement on what they should do in cases like that, the group had a little altercation on whether Valentino and Diego won or not.

While the two were already celebrating their victory, the rest of the group were displeased by the outcome, especially Jacob and Roldan, who had been wanting Samuel dead. Diego even taunted them by taking pride and heaping praises on Samuel’s endurance and tenacity that enabled him to make it until the “final level” of the “game”.

Just like how their characters interacted with each other onscreen, it seemed that the vibe among their clique was completely the same behind the scenes, based on the photos posted by Mel Martinez on Instagram.

On the very night of their first appearances on the show, he posted a carousel of snaps wherein he was seen posing for the camera alongside veteran character actors Joel Saracho, Simon Ibarra, and Eric Fructuoso, calling their group “The Four Horsemen.”

Three days later, he posted another carousel of photos with these veteran actors, yet this time, it was a groufie with their other co-stars Malou Crisologo, JC De Vera, Joko Diaz, and Tirso Cruz III. They were joined by their “boss” Julie Anne R. Benitez, head of JRB Creative Productions, the production unit of ABS-CBN in charge of “Sins of the Father”.

Very happy to be working with these great actors of ‘Sins of the Father’ together with our boss [red heart emoji],” Mel wrote in the caption.

On his IG post last September 2, “the gang” was complete as Malou was finally present in their group picture together.

And last September 12, Mel hinted that their characters are going to be together again on the show by posting a groufie with them, which he captioned, “Naku may binabalak na naman kami. Kaya tutok po sa ‘Sins of the Father.’ Happy Friday from the gang.”

Are you as excited as us to see what this circle of crooked and corrupt people has been planning against Samuel? Well, you better not miss an episode of “Sins of the Father”, weeknights on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live (KOL), A2Z, TV5 and iWant.
