From serenading fellow housemates in “Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11” to now serenading the whole nation, Rain Celmar has taken her musical gift to the next level, with the release of her EP titled "b luvd."
As if “b luvd” on loop wasn’t already a treat, Rain gave fans another serving of her vocals through the “Sing It, Don’t Say It” Challenge on Kapamilya Chat. In the game, she had to sing the perfect song that fit each given scenario, giving us mini-concerts one after another.
Starting off the challenge, Rain picked Taylor Swift's "Crazier" as her current life anthem which ties perfectly with “Crazy!”—her favorite expression inside the "PBB" house. “I feel like it’s getting crazy, but in a good way,” she reflected. “There are times na I wish I could go home to Cebu kahit for a day lang, just a day of pausing and feeling what’s going on, just cherish the moment.”
Staying in that reflective headspace, Rain was asked to dedicate a song to her younger self and she went with One Direction’s “Night Changes.” The track perfectly mirrors her journey from stepping into the “PBB” house just a year ago to living out her dreams today. She'd also want to tell her younger self, "I'm so proud of you," which she sang with an impromptu melody.
From reflective to relaxed, Rain sang a few lines from Krissy and Ericka’s "12:51," which is her go-to karaoke song for a very practical reason—“madaling hanapin sa songbook!” Of course, her sample melted everyone in the studio.
As for her dream performance on a big stage, Rain said it would have to be “Pahuway,” one of the tracks from her debut EP, “b luvd.” And it’s actually not a far-off dream because it’s part of the set list for her upcoming show in Cebu. “I’m finally singing a song in my native tongue to the people who can understand,” she expressed. "Pahuway" means 'rest' in Bisaya. It’s also the song she’s dedicating to her parents.
As a final note, Rain let us in on her current LSS, which is "Parking Lot" by Jeremy G. “I just heard it a few days ago and it’s been in my head,” she said before singing a few lines from the party track.
