If you could trade voices with anyone, whose would it be? For a bunch of our favorite celebs, the answer was unanimous—Asia’s Songbird herself, Regine Velasquez. After all, who wouldn’t want to belt those high notes and own the stage the way Regine does?
Of course, for Ogie Alcasid, the answer was already decided. His wife Regine will always be the best.
Tasha, Julia, and Ezri, collectively known as the Mitra Sisters, Regine’s talented nieces and the newest Kapamilya trio, also had the same answer. Sure, they’ve already wowed audiences in different guest appearances with their own unique vocal style, but if they could borrow a voice for a day, they’d choose Tita Regine’s so they could feel what it’s like to hit those soaring power belts.
Loisa Andalio shared that Regine has always been one of her idols, while Jona described Asia’s Songbird as her number one inspiration.
And if Elha Nympha could trade voices for just one night, say, in a concert, she’d grab Regine’s in a heartbeat. “Grabe ’yung vocal range niya, hindi siya napapagod, lalo na ’yung vocal stamina niya,” she gushed.
Since her "PBB Lucky Season 7" win, Maymay Entrata has already carved her own space in music but she still dreams of mastering one thing—how Regine can soar through high notes and still look like it’s a walk in the park.
Vivoree summed it up in one word—effortless. “I love the tone of her voice. Sobrang sarap pakinggan and very versatile. She can do any type of genre. ’Yan sana ’yung gusto ko with my voice,” she said.
This only proves that no matter the generation, the gold standard of vocals will always be the Asia's Songbird.
