Showbiz icon Gladys Reyes officially joins the Star Magic family after signing a contract with ABS-CBN’s premier talent agency during the “Grand Welcome to Star Magic” event on Thursday (August 28).
Since her iconic kontrabida role in ABS-CBN’s hit series “Mara Clara” in 1992, Gladys shared her excitement to be part of the Star Magic family. She also turned emotional as she expressed how grateful she is to still feel respected as an artist after four decades in the industry.
“I’m just so happy because this feels like an answered prayer for my career. I’m looking forward to more meaningful and challenging projects. It’s really touching to still feel the respect and appreciation after all these years,” she said.
Present at the contract signing were ABS-CBN COO Cory Vidanes, entertainment production and Star Magic head Laurenti Dyogi, and Star Magic manager Gidget Dela Cuesta.
Without officially announcing her upcoming projects just yet, Gladys shared that she is looking forward to the opportunities ahead.
“There’s still so much I want to do. Aside from TV dramas, I want to host again so I can show my candidness and my true self—whether it be a talk show, a variety show, or even a game show,” she added.
Gladys was part of the cast of the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival movie “And The Breadwinner Is…” and she is also a regular judge for “It’s Showtime’s” various segments. Her son, Christophe Sommereux, also recently signed with Star Magic as a recording artist for ABS-CBN’s record label StarPop.
