Before leaving the mansion to go to the polling precinct on the day of the elections, Tanggol (Coco Martin) and Marites (Cherry Pie Picache) had a heartwarming and emotional conversation, wherein he related to her the heated argument that he had with Ramon (Christopher de Leon) the night before.
He explained to her that his main purpose of running for mayor is really to help the people and not to protect the Montenegros’ own interests, which truly delighted Marites since he chooses to be a good person rather than become amoral like his father and grandfather.
Tanggol also relayed to Marites his plan of departing from the mansion once he wins, for he wants to serve the city with utmost honesty and to help the people achieve their dreams—to which Marites expressed her all-out support.
With all her shortcomings to him as her mother, Marites wanted Tanggol to feel how much she loves him and how proud she is of the person that he has become at present. She’s also grateful that despite being a notorious troublemaker in Quiapo, it’s still his compassion and generosity towards other people that prevail.
Besides, she also thanked him for giving her the chance to be a mother to him in spite of all the times that she had failed to become one to him. At the same time, Tanggol apologized to Marites for causing trouble to her and their family, as well as expressed how much he loves her unconditionally.
As Tanggol vowed to put the city in order once elected as mayor, Marites told him that she highly believes that he can do it and reminded him that Poong Nazareno would certainly guide him along the way.
