What started out as a light conversation between Ramon (Christopher de Leon) and Tanggol (Coco Martin) ended in a heated altercation.
It happened after Ramon mentioned how confident he is that Tanggol will win by the end of the elections due to the massive support that he has received from the people and the amount of money that their family has already invested in his and his team’s campaign.
He went on to remind his son that once he’s able to finally claim the mayoralty seat, it will become easier for them to protect their illegal ventures and personal interests. While this has been their initial motivation in pushing him to run for office, Tanggol seems to have already changed his mind and proposes his new plans to Ramon.
This certainly enraged Ramon, as he reminded his son that they’d already talked about it before, to which they all agreed that his main agenda will be to protect their family’s business empire. However, Tanggol argued that what really made him decide to run was to put Manila City in order, to help the people, and to correct the wicked things that the Guerreros have done.
Ramon indeed got mad upon hearing what his son just said, so he pulled him by the collar of his shirt and called him a fool, reiterating that the main purpose of his running for the elections is to protect their family. However, Tanggol clapped back by telling his father that he and Don Julio (Tommy Abuel) can never force him to do whatever they want him to do, especially when it’s agianst his principles.
