After a long and tiring shift at the hospital, Gemma (Kaori Oinuma) heads home in the early morning and is welcomed by a warm hug from Nanay Li (Rio Locsin), who at the time is buying bread from a vendor—one bag each for their household, for Jason (Francis Magundayao), for Patrick (Joshua Garcia), and for Matmat (Carlo Aquino).

Curious about why Matmat didn’t sleep with Patrick, Gemma listens as Nanay Li explains the spat between the two brothers. Amused, Gemma takes one of the bags of pandesal and volunteers to bring it to Patrick, teasingly reminded by her mother that it’s a little too early to be turning on the charm.

Her bright smile fades, however, the moment she opens the wooden gate to Patrick’s house and spots Mia (Anne Curtis) outside, sipping coffee and enjoying the seaside view. Gemma pointedly asks why Mia is there, only for Mia to toy with her emotions by noting that she’s wearing Patrick’s clothes—a clear sign, she claims, that she spent the night with him. Pushing further, Mia teases that she has already told Patrick “I love you” and believes he accepted it, spinning stories that she gave Patrick what he wanted and insisting that Gemma, in his eyes, is just a friend.

Trying to snap her back to reality, Gemma tells Mia she doesn’t own anyone and that everything she’s saying is nothing more than delusion and obsession. The exchange turns heated until, unable to hold back, Gemma slaps Mia in an attempt to wake her from her fixation. Mia retaliates with an even harsher pull to her hair, spitting out that Gemma is not as lovable as she thinks and that no one would ever fall for her.

The commotion catches Patrick’s attention, prompting him to step in, with Nanay Li, Jason, and Matmat following in shock at the sight of Mia there.
