Patrick (Joshua Garcia) checks on Matmat (Carlo Aquino) at Nanay Li (Rio Locsin)’s house and asks her if she could look after his 'manong' for the time being.
As always, Nanay Li has prepared food for them to feast on altogether, but Patrick decides to just take his portion with him to his house, secretly intending it for Mia (Anne Curtis) whom he had been compelled to bring over because of the heavy rain. Nanay Li does not question Patrick, thinking that perhaps he simply needs some time alone to cool off after his spat with Matmat and the constant stress from work.
Inside his house, Patrick sets the dishes on the table for him and Mia to share. Though hesitant at first, Mia cannot hide her appreciation for Nanay Li’s cooking, especially the comforting bowl of soup that satisfies her after going so long without a proper home-cooked meal. She also delights in the shrimp, which Patrick patiently shells for her.
She watches curiously as Patrick crushes a tomato with his hands to mix with salted egg, the combination and the way he prepares it clearly new to her, yet she finds it more delicious than she would have imagined. Mia has obviously enjoyed her simple dinner with Patrick.
