It’s the day Matmat (Carlo Aquino) has been looking forward to, but also the one Patrick (Joshua Garcia) has been dreading—Mia’s (Anne Curtis) book signing event. Matmat had received a special invitation from Mia herself, which only makes things more complicated for Patrick, who has been doing his best to avoid her.
He initially plans to have their friend Jason (Francis Magundayao) accompany Matmat instead, and they had agreed on the arrangement. But when Patrick tries to reach Jason, his calls go unanswered. The scene cuts to Jason, fast asleep and passed out from drinking the night before. With no other choice, Patrick reluctantly decides to accompany Matmat himself.
Outside the venue at the National Museum, Matmat is already dancing with excitement. Every photo of Mia he sees feels alive to him, as if her gazes are bursting through the frames. He plays with the floating bubbles, laughing as they drift through the air, while his ears seem to catch the melody of imaginary birdsong. The colorful lanterns hanging above match the vibrant feeling in his heart.
Patrick watches from the side, his worries momentarily fading, and he's simply happy to see his 'Manong' in pure joy.
