At St. Benedict Hospital, where her book-reading event was set, Mia (Anne Curtis) stepped outside for a smoke. The bestselling children's book author was wearing her usual iciness, until Patpat (Joshua Garcia) approached her to remind her that smoking isn't allowed anywhere on hospital ground, and just like that, the usual sharpness in Mia’s expression softened without her even realizing it.

A flashback followed, showing a younger Mia and Patpat sharing an umbrella under the rain.

Back in the present, the flowers swayed in the breeze as Mia looked at Patpat and asked, “Do you believe in destiny?” Surprisingly, the same Mia who could barely be told what to wear earlier that day didn’t even argue when Patpat asked her to put out the cigarette. She simply followed.

As Patpat turned to leave, Mia called after him and asked if he knew who she was. He casually replied that of course he did—she’s Mia Hernandez, the bestselling children’s book author. She asked for his name, but he just kept walking.

Patpat's eyes expressed coldness as he walked away, and it lingered as the scene flowed into flashbacks showing young Patpat offering flowers to young Mia, who looked at him before suddenly ripping the wings off a butterfly, stirring Patpat's fear.

The flashback mirrored the same scene from the children's story "Ang Prinsesa at ang Anino ng Kadiliman," which he had read to his older brother Matmat (Carlo Aquino) at the start of the episode, as if the fairytale  more than just fiction.
