Following the scene with brothers Patpat (Joshua Garcia) and Matmat (Carlo Aquino), the pilot episode then introduced viewers to Mia Hernandez (Anne Curtis), bestselling children’s storybook author, sitting alone in a restaurant and slicing into her favorite steak with a little too much precision, so much so it felt slightly eerie if you looked close enough.

Apparently, the restaurant staff was given strict instructions not to disturb her, but a young fan named Zei (Imogen Cantong) and her mom somehow got in. And since they were already there, Mia decided to entertain them. Zei politely asked for an autograph and then turned to her mom, saying Mia looks like a real-life princess from a fairytale.

The word 'princess' triggered Mia. The child didn't notice, though, and said her mom always tells her she’s just as pretty as a princess too. Mia then invited the little girl to come closer for a picture. With the child sitting on her lap, Mia leaned in and whispered that real fans know the prettiest character in her stories isn’t the princess, but the witch. Then she coaxed the child to go back to her mom and say, “I want to be a pretty badass witch,” which scared Zei so much she ran off.

As the mother and daughter hurried out, in came Vincent, or Boss V (Enchong Dee), Mia’s publicist-slash-manager who’s as animated and expressive as Mia is cold and blunt. He rattled off her schedule for the day, including a photoshoot and a book-reading event, and lightly suggested she ditch her all-black dress for something more kid-friendly. Mia pressed her knife into the plate, making that uncomfortable squeaking sound that said she wasn’t changing a thing, and Boss V, clearly used to her brand of stubborn, simply dropped it and moved on.

While waiting outside the restaurant for their ride, Mia's attention was caught by a guy across the street. It was Patpat.
